At the Roundhouse

See the bills related to agriculture and food processing we're tracking during the legislative session. FOCUS bills are selected as our key priorities and as indicators of friendliness to business.

Agriculture and food processing industries are key contributors to sustaining strong economic development and job creation in New Mexico. Together, the two industries accounted for $10.6 billion, or 12.3 percent, of the state’s gross state product. Additionally, the two industries support over 50,886 jobs statewide. To ensure the long-term viability of the local agriculture and food industries, it is important for New Mexico to retain and adopt regulatory structures that encourage access to local agricultural and food markets at the lowest cost possible.
